Welcome to the SSC Sociology After Hours.
This is a new service that we have begun testing to allow Sociology Graduate Students exclusive remote desktop access to their lab.

Remote Desktop Hours:
Priority is given to scheduled classes in the Sociology lab. Always check the lab schedule before connecting.
The Soc Lab remote hours are as follows:
At 6am, a warning will appear and log you off after 10 minutes.

How to Connect:
1. You must have a current SSC lab account.
3. Open the Remote Desktop Connection Software. If you are unfamiliar with Remote Desktop, there is a FAQ available.
4. Find an available machine from the following link:
Log in with your SSC Labs account.
Please login by typing: SSCLABS\username
Just click on the available machine and run the download ( OR Enter the full machine name, from the list of machines, into your Remote Desktop Client. For exmaple: J##.labs.ss.ucla.edu )

Note that disconnected and idle sessions will be ended after 15 minutes.
The machines are set to reboot at 7am to prepare for normal business hours. You will be warned and given 10 minutes to save your work.
As with any software you install on your computer please be sure to have a current backup before you proceed and be warned that you proceed at your own risk!
