We anticipate to be a 30 minute outage during this time. But we will be working hard to minimize the service disruption.

Barracuda Email Delivery Delays

The issue has been resolved and mail is now being delivered. Thank you for your patience.

SSC is currently experiencing deferred email deliveries from our Barracuda Spam Filter appliance. Emails received from external users (ie, not @ucla.edu domains) are currently caught in a queue causing delays to local delivery. We are working to have these emails delivered, users should start receiving these emails to their mailbox within approximately 30 minutes. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Email maintenance – MLK weekend – 01/15-01/17

SSC will perform email maintenance on some of the mailbox databases. This will only impact people in the Polisci and IRLE departments. Individual mailboxes will be inaccessible during the maintenance.

Blackboard Collaborate unexpected outage

Turnitin Maintenance this Saturday, March 15th

There will be a Turnitin outage scheduled for this Saturday, March 15th from 7am – 11am PST. During this time, Turnitin services will be down. Our Moodle class sites will be up, but students will not be able to submit their assignments via the Turnitin Assignment in Moodle and you will be unable to edit or grad existing activities.

If you plan on having any assignments due this weekend, you’ll need to adjust the due time to before the outage, or several hours after the outage.

Upgrade to Moodle 2.5.2 complete

At 11:10am today (December 17) the SSC team successfully upgraded to Moodle 2.5. With the upgrade, SSC’s CCLE Moodle has been caught up to recent security patches and implemented the CCLE Shared System unser interface. Now instructors and students can experience the same look and feel as the participants under the CCLE project.

We are in the process of updating our documentations to include the new upgrades. If you encounter any issues or have questions about the new release, please feel free to contact us athelp@ssc.ucla.edu.

Moodle Upgrade Outage on 12/17/13 from 6AM to 2PM

SSC Web group will be performing a Moodle upgrade on Tuesday, December 17th from 6AM to 2PM. During the upgrade, the class sites (http://moodle2.sscnet.ucla.edu

) will be unavailable.

This upgrade will include an upgrade of Moodle version (from 2.3.7 to 2.5.2), security patches, improvements on existing tools (like quizzes and assignments), as well as updates to our layout to match the CCLE Shared System.

Inaccessibility issues with websites restored

Earlier today, out network team was applying additional security settings to our DNS.  As a result, you may have noticed that you were unable to access our websites.  The issue was resolved at 12:48pm today and our services have been restored.  We apologize for any inconvenience.

Moodle 2 (class sites) are back up

We experienced slowness with our classes server (moodle2.sscnet.ucla.edu) this morning between 9:45AM to 12:15PM.  Our systems team has been looking into the slowness and we can report that the server is now preforming normally, but if you encounter any errors or notice any slowness, please contact us at help@ssc.ucla.edu.
