Apple has released macOS 11 (Big Sur)
At this time, SSCERT strongly recommends against upgrading to macOS11 (Big Sur). This is a major update, and many common software programs are not compatible with the new version.
These include the following:
- UCLA Cisco AnyConnect VPN client
- Sophos Anti-Virus
- Various Adobe products
- Older versions of Mac software (e.g., Office 2016, Parallels Desktop, Zoom)
If your Mac operating system is currently running on macOS 10.14 (Mojave) or 10.15 (Catalina), you do not need to do anything at this time. Apple fully supports these versions.
If you are running macOS 10.13 (High Sierra) or older, please consider upgrading to macOS 10.14. Here are instructions from Apple.
Please contact the SSCERT Service Desk at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions or concerns.
