Moodle 2: Services Restored

At 10:53PM, we started to experience issues with our classes server (http://moodle2.sscnet.ucla.edu) and we are looking into the issue. Sorry for the inconvenience. This news item will be updated once services have been restored.

Upgrade to Moodle 2.5.5 complete

At 2:31pm today (March 25) the SSC team successfully upgraded to Moodle 2.5.5. With the upgrade, SSC’s CCLE Moodle has been caught up to recent security patches. A list of new features will be posted to the SSC CCLE Moodle System’s News page: https://moodle2.sscnet.ucla.edu/

We are in the process of updating our documentations to include the new upgrades. If you encounter any issues or have questions about the new release, please feel free to contact us at help@ssc.ucla.edu.

Moodle Upgrade Outage on Tuesday, March 25th from 2PM to 4PM

SSC Web group will be performing a Moodle upgrade on Tuesday, March 25th from 2PM to 4PM. During the upgrade, the class sites (http://moodle2.sscnet.ucla.edu) will be unavailable.

This upgrade will include vital security patches and improvements to existing tools such as quizzes, assignments, the Turnitin integration tool, and Kaltura Media services. We will be working hard to minimize our outage time.

Blackboard Collaborate unexpected outage

UPDATE: Service to Blackboard Collaborate has been restored.  If you are still having problems with tool, please contact help@ssc.ucla.edu

Blackboard Collaborate is currently experiencing an issue with their service. Please check their status page for updates on the outage:

Turnitin Maintenance this Saturday, March 15th

There will be a Turnitin outage scheduled for this Saturday, March 15th from 7am – 11am PST. During this time, Turnitin services will be down. Our Moodle class sites will be up, but students will not be able to submit their assignments via the Turnitin Assignment in Moodle and you will be unable to edit or grad existing activities.

If you plan on having any assignments due this weekend, you’ll need to adjust the due time to before the outage, or several hours after the outage.
